We have become so different… it’s sad to say, but we’ve turned into true consumers.

As a wedding planner, I’ve realized that we sometimes lose our sense of direction simply because we have too many options. Instagram and Pinterest have completely overwhelmed couples. AI-generated images that are entirely unrealistic, along with Pinterest photos that are artificially created; because they’re not real weddings, but staged, styled shoots with models rather than real couples, create unrealistic expectations for young couples planning their wedding.

The wedding industry is an absolute jungle, full of opportunists and service providers shouting from every platform: “WITHOUT US, YOUR WEDDING WON’T BE GOOD ENOUGH!!” And all of that is so wrong.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m the first to adore huge weddings that require organization and production on the level of a small festival. I also love micro-weddings that no one knows about. But I’m old-fashioned too, and above all, I love love and believe in the institution of marriage. I truly believe that for a happy marriage and a great love, you don’t need anything material, only what lives inside you.

You can have the most expensive venue, endless floral arrangements, the best wedding band, even a celebrity guest singing your first dance song, but none of that guarantees your wedding will be a beautiful experience. Whether you wear a dress you paid €2,000 for or a €50 one from Shein, you’ll feel exactly the same.

All the beauty and magic of a wedding lies within you, dear newlyweds.

If the two of you are joyful, relaxed, and open on your wedding day, that energy will shape the entire atmosphere. If, on the other hand, you make your own life difficult that day, picking faults, getting upset because things don’t go exactly as imagined in theory, that too will reflect in the atmosphere.

And then, not even the most cheerful band will help.

That’s why everything you prepared during the planning, you did it well. You worked hard, there was stress, responsibility, and expenses. Once you’ve reached your wedding day, it’s time to let go of control. To stop taking everything so seriously. Now is the time to open your heart and have more fun than ever before.

The newlyweds are the heart of the wedding.

No one comes to your wedding to count petals in the floral arrangements. No one checks the labels on your clothes. Trust me, after a week, people will lose or throw away the favors. Your guests come only for you. To celebrate with you. And that’s why the greatest thank-you you can give them is your joy and your wild energy on the dance floor. Thank yourselves too - for doing a heroic job throughout the organization, by fully surrendering to happiness.
